“In Lamanna Jr.’s debut thriller, a journalist looks into the suspicious death of an enigmatic billionaire who was killed when a drone, in a reputed accident, shot down his plane. Lamanna’s novel begins as a standard thriller, with the journalist piecing together RC’s mysterious past from his family’s stories (six ex-wives and a widow provide plenty of context) and weighing different theories on RC’s death (mostly the military’s claim of a mishap vs. a drone hijacking).
